August is here, and we're excited to celebrate National Breastfeeding Month with our Durham community! This month is an opportunity to recognize the strength of breastfeeding families and the healthcare providers, lactation professionals, community partners, and advocates who help make breastfeeding support possible every day.

This year's theme, "RISE: Resilience, Interdependence, Self-Determination, and Empowerment," reminds us that when families are supported by a strong community, everyone benefits. Here in Durham County, we're proud to work alongside organizations and individuals dedicated to ensuring every family has access to compassionate, equitable lactation support.

Throughout this month, we'll be celebrating National Breastfeeding Month by highlighting local events, sharing community resources, and recognizing the incredible work happening across Durham. We hope you'll join us in celebrating, connecting, and continuing to build a community where every family can thrive.

Here's to a month of learning, celebrating, and rising together!

Boobs, Banter, & Booze: July 30th
Boobs, Banter and Booze is back! And we are teaming up with Breastfeed Orange to host a gathering in anticipation of World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month. This is meant to be a space for people who serve lactating families in Orange County and the wider Triangle area to connect and get to know one another so we can better serve our community. We will be getting appetizers for the group, and folks can enjoy the full Haw River Tap and Table menu should you want drinks or additional food. We hope to see you there!
