As we continue celebrating National Breastfeeding Month, we're proud to recognize Week 4: Black Breastfeeding Week, celebrated August 25–31. This year's theme, “We All We Got: 14 Years of Community, Care, and Collective Power,” honors the community that has helped sustain and grow the Black breastfeeding movement.
Black Breastfeeding Week is a time to recognize the experiences, history, and contributions of Black families and the people working to make breastfeeding support more accessible and culturally responsive. It also highlights the importance of strong support systems, trusted resources, and welcoming spaces for Black parents and babies.
This week, we celebrate the families, advocates, lactation professionals, birth workers, and community organizations helping families reach their breastfeeding goals and strengthening support within their communities.
Thank you for celebrating Black Breastfeeding Week with us and for supporting the work of the families and communities at the heart of the breastfeeding movement.
