Happy New Year! As we step into 2024, we at Breastfeed Durham are so excited about our journey this year. Our goals this year are about more than just meaningful engagements and transformative experiences, they are about nurturing a community where nursing babies are supported, respected, and celebrated.
We'll kick off the new year with a community review of the DCoDPH Human Milk Feeding Strategic Plan draft – a crucial step towards shaping a breastfeeding-friendly future. Our annual highlight, the Breastfeed Durham Gala, will be an evening rich with celebration and connections, honoring the strides we've made together. We're also thrilled to celebrate the second Queer Family Planning Health Fair, a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and diversity in family support. Our coalition meetings with Lactancia Latina and Black Breastfeeding Coalitions will continue to be pillars of strength and unity, fostering a community where every voice is heard and valued. Our 6-part Breastfeeding Symposia series is set to be a cornerstone for education and empowerment. These sessions are more than just gatherings; they're platforms for learning, sharing, and growing together. |

At Breastfeed Durham, our mission is not just about creating breastfeeding-friendly spaces; it's about weaving a fabric of support and understanding across our community. We are dedicated to ensuring that every family in Durham feels equipped and supported in their breastfeeding, chestfeeding, and human milk feeding journey. 2024 is more than just a new year; it's a new chapter in our collective story of changemaking, collaboration, and unwavering support for Durham families. Let's make this year a remarkable one, filled with progress, joy, and community spirit. |
