August isn’t over yet, and neither is the celebration! This year’s theme, "Forward Together," honors the unity and resilience of communities working to make breastfeeding and chestfeeding more accessible and equitable.

Whether you're a parent, provider, or advocate—your role matters. Let’s keep pushing for healthier babies, stronger families, and a culture of support for every feeding journey.

Black August in the Park is one of the most powerful community celebrations in Durham — and this year marks the 10th anniversary of honoring Black liberation, joy, and resistance. We’re calling on the Breastfeed Durham family to show up strong! Wear your Breastfeed Durham shirts and connect with other families, friends, and breastfeeding advocates as we celebrate Black August together.

Bernadette Greene and Claudia Hines will be there holding space for our community — so whether you’re stopping by for a quick hug or spending the whole day in the park, you’ll have a place to land.
