The Durham Digest (August 2021) |
| |
As we enter into National Breastfeeding Month this August, Breastfeed Durham celebrates the work of so many in our community who strive for more equitable, more accessible, and more compassionate healthcare for all families. We acknowledge that there is a great deal of work to be done in Durham before all families will have equitable access to healthcare, breastfeeding support resources, and education. Specifically, we call your attention this month to Native families, Asian American families, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander families, and Black families as well as our shared responsibility to each other as a community as we go through these next four weeks.
We are committed to infant feeding equity. We feel hope as we look forward to another year collaborating with agencies and individuals taking action across our community for a healthier Durham for all families.
