Breastfeed Durham
The Durham Digest
March 2022

We are not the first generation to face social turmoil and international unrest. Strengthened and motivated to make the world a safe and peaceful place for our children, we are totally transformed by our children. But the transition is slow, and, frankly, hard. Parenthood is not like a light switch. It’s more like a tiny seed that grows into a strong oak tree. In the early years of parenting, we’re just a sapling, but by the time our kids are grown and our grandkids are growing…we all have the privilege of becoming great-grandparents. Think about that word…with time, we all grow greater and grander at being parents. Your community is here to support you. We welcome you to email Breastfeed Durham and let us know:

  • How can we offer support?

  • How can we celebrate your success?

  • How is your organization celebrating Minority Health Month?

Thank you all for putting your time and energy into this work!

We feel honored and privileged to connect with passionate people who have the capacity to advocate for families in the midst of these difficult times. Please sign up today to volunteer or donate to support the upcoming Family Festival and Health Fair on May 14 from 3-6 PM. And please encourage our local businesses and organizations to apply for the Breastfeeding Friendly Community Partner Award. Spring is arriving and families with young children are slowly transitioning out of quarantine. More than ever, they need safe places to breastfeed. We celebrate our newest breastfeeding friendly community partners who are providing that safe space:
