As we continue celebrating National Breastfeeding Month 🤱🏽, we’re proud to recognize Semana de la Lactancia Latina, taking place this year from September 8–14! This year’s theme, “RaĂces de Amor: Lactancia con Orgullo y Poder” — “Roots of Love: Breastfeeding with Pride and Power” — honors the love, strength, culture, and resilience that shape the breastfeeding journeys of Latino/x families.
Breastfeeding support should be accessible, welcoming, and culturally responsive for every family. Semana de la Lactancia Latina also shines a light on the unique barriers Latino/x families may face and the importance of language justice in ensuring families have access to the information, resources, and support they need.
This week, we’re celebrating the parents, families, lactation professionals, community leaders, and advocates who are helping create more inclusive and equitable breastfeeding support. Together, we can honor the traditions that connect us, amplify the voices of our communities, and empower every family to reach their breastfeeding goals. 🌎
