As we continue celebrating National Breastfeeding Month, we’re proud to recognize Deaf and Hard of Hearing Week! This week’s theme, “Close the Gap, Strengthen the Bridge: Community, Care & Connection,” highlights the importance of connection and accessible support for Deaf and hard of hearing families.

Deaf and hard of hearing parents deserve breastfeeding support that is welcoming, inclusive, and responsive to their communication needs. Accessible information, trusted resources, and meaningful connections with care providers and community members can help families feel supported throughout their breastfeeding journey.

This week, we celebrate Deaf and hard of hearing families, along with the advocates, lactation professionals, healthcare providers, and community partners working to strengthen connections and make breastfeeding support more accessible for all.

Politisit is a nonpartisan nonprofit working to make civic participation more accessible for parents and caregivers. Its Childcare for Voters program helps remove one common barrier to voting: finding affordable childcare. The program supports free childcare and childcare reimbursements, giving parents more flexibility to participate in elections and other civic activities. By providing practical support, Politisit helps families take part in their communities without having to choose between childcare and civic engagement.
