As the festive season of December wraps us in its magical embrace, we recognize that for many lactating parents and community advocates, it also brings unique pressures and challenges. Remember, being magical is not always easy, but your resilience and dedication throughout the year have been nothing short of inspiring.

• Shop at our local Breastfeeding Family Friendly Businesses during this holiday season. Durham’s breastfeeding-friendly businesses and organizations play a huge role in normalizing breastfeeding in our community.

The proceeds from our fundraiser will directly support Breastfeed Durham's mission. We aim to procure urgently needed lactation supplies for medically fragile infants and advocate for systemic change, eliminating the need for such emergency purchases. We envision a future where big system organizations can promptly meet the perinatal and nutritional needs of every infant in our community.

Breastfeed Durham hosted a virtual First Food Equity Series for providers in Durham County and the surrounding areas on the second Tuesday of each month between October 2022 - May 2023. We are excited to announce that these webinars are now LIVE on our website for our community to refer to at any time! We’ll be featuring each of our First Food Equity Webinars in our monthly newsletter. This month, explore how to fully integrate appropriate lactation support into patient visits with Dr. Emily Hannon.
