Breastfeeding Advocacy: Nurturing Healthier Communities with Breastfeed Durham

At Breastfeed Durham, our mission is to promote and normalize breastfeeding, particularly in communities and closing the disparity gap in breastfeeding and lactation, a key component in ensuring the health and well-being of parents and infants.

We’re excited to share a significant milestone in our journey. Thanks to the generous support from Blue Line Media LLC, we’re moving forward with an impactful initiative that promises to broaden our reach and deepen our impact.

The Power of Visibility: Our latest project involves the creation and placement of culturally appropriate signage on local buses. This initiative is part of our commitment to implementing step 2 of the 10 steps to a Breastfeeding Family Friendly Community. Collaborating with local artists, L Jámal Walton, we’ve designed signs that resonate with our diverse community, promoting breastfeeding as a natural and healthy practice for all families.

The Power of Support: Blue Line Media LLC has graciously offered us a donation of $150 to support Breastfeed Durham. his gesture not only aids us financially but also strengthens our network of support, crucial for the success of community-based initiatives.

Impact on Health: Our efforts go beyond normalizing breastfeeding, chest feeding, and. human milk feeding. They are a direct response to the alarming rates of infant and maternal mortality, particularly in underrepresented Durham communities. By increasing visibility and awareness through our bus signage, we aim to shift perceptions and encourage breastfeeding, offering lifelong health benefits to both mothers and children.

Gratitude and Moving Forward: We extend our heartfelt thanks to Blue Line Media LLC and all our supporters who believe in our cause. Your contributions are invaluable in making a difference in the lives of countless families.

As we continue our efforts, we invite our community to join us in this journey. Together, we can create a healthier, more supportive environment for all families, one where breastfeeding is seen as a natural, vital part of nurturing our future generations.
