Breastfeed Durham’s very own Stephanie Amekuedi was highlighted in the La Leche League USA blog and website!
Stephanie has been an LLL Leader since January 2020 and currently serves on the LLL USA Council as an elected delegate for the Mosaic Area Network. She is a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist. She is also the Founder of Nourish and Thrive, a human milk feeding organization, whose mission is to provide resources and access to lactation education to Black lactating mothers and families.
Stephanie is an inspirational leader who embodies the values of community, diversity, and unyielding determination in her passion for inclusivity and equity in lactation advocacy spaces and advocates for a community that values and acknowledges everyone’s unique contributions, challenging traditional models for a more equitable future within LLL USA. We are immensely honored and lucky to have Stephanie as a part of the Breastfeed Durham team and community!
We are immensely grateful for the dedication and inspiration Stephanie Amekuedi has provided to Breastfeed Durham over the past year. Her move to focus more on her impactful work with Nourish and Thrive in Wake County marks the end of an era for us, but her legacy of passionate advocacy and community building endures.
We encourage you all to read the La Leche League article below to learn more about Stephanie’s journey and experience as a Black La Leche League Leader.
