Sept 30 First Food Equity Series: Lactation in Diverse Families: Chestfeeding, Queer Families, Accessibility
This session delves into the unique challenges and opportunities associated with lactation in diverse family structures, including chestfeeding, queer families, and those with accessibility needs. As we strive for inclusivity in healthcare, understanding the nuances of different lactation experiences is crucial. Participants will engage with experts in the field who are advocates and members of these communities. Through presentations and discussions led by Ky Kennedy and Amber Crews, attendees will gain insights into lactation support’s practical and emotional aspects tailored to diverse families. This session aims to broaden perspectives, educate on specific needs, and equip providers with the tools to offer compassionate, competent care to all families.
