On Sunday, June 1st, 2025 Breastfeed Durham was honored to join the Rainbow Collective for Change at their Annual Manifest RCC Event at Falls Lake. It was a joyful day of connection, community, and celebration, where we had the chance to share our mission: creating a world where all families feel seen, supported, and empowered in their infant feeding journeys.
Throughout the day, we listened to heartfelt stories from individuals who have faced barriers in accessing affirming lactation care, especially trans and non-binary parents and those seeking to co-lactate. Their experiences are a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusive care and the work that still lies ahead.
Many families shared their appreciation for the growing presence of organizations like Breastfeed Durham. They spoke about how meaningful it is to feel visible, to feel heard, and to know they’re not alone. Here at Breastfeed Durham our LBGTQ+ Committee is committed to helping families find support and resources tailored to their needs.
