EDITOR’S NOTE
This is a big day for our organization. I’ve always said I’d run this newsletter until racism no longer existed, and I can’t believe we’ve reached that day. Racism is over and we are, too.
Our funders made this newsletter possible. You can give one last time, by donating on PayPal, Patreon, or Venmo @antiracismdaily. Thank you for your support!

GET EDUCATED
By Andrew Lee (he/him)
It’s morning again in America. A number of momentous changes have been announced over the past 12 hours that promise to fundamentally uproot intergenerational structural inequalities. We are pleased to announce as of today, racism has officially ended.
An Ipsos poll released yesterday found that attitudes of white Americans have changed drastically. While previously only 50% of white U.S. residents believed that racism is “built into the American economy, government, and educational systems,” that figure is now 97%. A full 95% believe that the United States must change to give Black residents equal rights—up from just 51% three years ago (Ipsos). People of color report witnessing these changed attitudes everywhere from job interviews to conversations with neighbors. “I used to think Black and Brown people were the reason my community didn’t have resources, but I recently learned about Fortune 500 companies and hedge funds,” said Joe, a member of a far-right militia before he became an anti-racist abolitionist this past Wednesday. “Whoopsie daisy.”
President Biden signed executive orders late last night prohibiting U.S. law enforcement from serving evictions or enforcing anti-trans legislation, banning the use of deadly force in policing, and setting a six-month timetable to close all domestic law enforcement agencies. “Right now, there are 33 empty homes for each unhoused person (Self), and it’s obscene that the police should force anybody onto the streets in violation of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights (UN). This is especially true given grave racial inequities in access to decent housing (Forbes). Law enforcement in general is a continuation of slave-catcher patrols, and we have empirical evidence that policing has no impact on the actual crime rate (USA Today). Cops are malarkey. We must do better,” the President remarked. “I’m also very sorry about the Violent Crime Act (Vox).”
This morning, the Department of Justice announced that the United States will no longer incarcerate or execute individuals. “The evidence is clear: mass incarceration neither rehabilitates those incarcerated nor makes our communities safer (PBS),” said Secretary Merrick Garland. “The $81 billion spent each year on the carceral system benefits nobody but those at the top of a crooked system (PBS). We have the responsibility to invest in real, proactive solutions to interpersonal and intercommunal harm.” Shortly thereafter, Secretary of State Antony Blinken told reporters that the United States will close its 750 foreign military bases, as well (Al Jazeera). “We will also end all border enforcement that impedes the free movement of peoples. The only justifiable use of the immense resources that the U.S. government and its former corporate partners have acquired through force is ensuring the dignity and prosperity of all people within its borders, throughout the hemisphere, and around the world,” Blinken said before sharing plans to convert the Pentagon into the world’s largest bounce house. NASA administrator Bill Nelson then announced a mission to launch the Confederate monument at Georgia’s Stone Mountain Park into the sun (CNN).
Since the modern conception of race was developed in the colonial South, racism didn’t always exist. And as of today, racism is finished. This doesn’t mean that historical wrongs and traumas disappeared overnight, but it does mean that we are, for the first time, witnessing a general commitment to ensure that these inequalities cannot reproduce themselves any longer, including the dismantling of whichever institutions allowed them to continue.
As racism no longer exists, The Anti-Racism Daily will cease publication. Effective tomorrow, visitors to the-ard.com will be redirected to FoxNews.com, which will begin its transformation into a decentralized network of autonomous grassroots media collectives rooted in Black and Indigenous communities. The team at The ARD would like to thank each of our readers and subscribers for their support. We did it!
Also, happy April Fools’ Day.
While the things reported in this article may not be true, there are community organizations putting in work to actually end white supremacy in each of these ways. Critical Resistance is fighting to end policing and incarceration. The Right to the City Alliance is working to enforce the right to dignified housing and an end to displacement. The Progressive International is working to bring together oppressed communities from around the world and act against U.S. bullying on the world stage. And each person who shares resources from The ARD or sparks hard conversations with their families, coworkers, and neighbors is helping to change the attitudes that allow racial inequalities to persist. We might not be quite there yet, but we should all aspire for the actual destruction of white supremacy within our lives.
