In the spirit of intersectionality, Breastfeed Durham would like to share information from WomenNC.
WomenNC would like to invite you to our networking event to meet our new class of scholars on Thursday, October 13th from 5:30pm-7:30pm. Grab a bite to eat, mix and mingle with those committed to gender equality and women’s empowerment through education and leadership training.
A key to our success is our Leadership Training Program. Our scholars spend 10 months researching specific gender disparities in North Carolina and formulating policy recommendations to improve the status quo. They then advocate for these changes in front of those who can effect change.
Learn about our scholars’ projects!
Network with gender justice advocates!

Scholar research topics include: The effects of food Insecurity for African American women and children in Northeast North Carolina. How to improve the reproductive and sexual health literacy of Latina immigrants in Durham. How can restorative justice principles and practices improve upon existing punitive school discipline processes in North Carolina public middle and high schools?
We are so excited to learn where their research takes them!
