Thank you to everyone who celebrated our community and the power of connection with us at the Breastfeed Durham Gala 2025. Together we shared an evening of elegance, inspiration, and purpose in support of families in our community, complete with a silent auction, delicious food, lively music, and inspiring stories of resilience and community support.

On Friday, February 28, 2025, Breastfeed Durham gathered at ReCity, 112 Broadway St, Durham, NC 27701, for an evening of elegance, inspiration, and purpose.
Highlights
- Networking and Connection: Advocates, community leaders, and families who share a commitment to nurturing Durham as a breastfeeding-friendly community came together to connect.
- Elegant Dining and Dancing: Guests enjoyed an enchanting atmosphere with a delicious menu featuring local flavors and community-crafted dishes, and danced the night away to music from DJ Ajax, back by popular demand, spinning tunes across generations.
- Inspiring Stories and Workshop: The gala included a special workshop and inspiring stories from community members whose lives have been positively impacted by Breastfeed Durham’s work.
Breastfeed Durham and the Durham County Department of Public Health officially unveiled the Human Milk Feeding Strategic Plan that evening, a roadmap to improve infant and maternal health outcomes through expanded support for breastfeeding and human milk feeding in our communities. The plan was signed that same evening by DCoDPH Director Rodney Jenkins at the Breastfeeding Symposium. Learn more about the plan.
Thank you to everyone who bid in our Silent Auction. All proceeds went toward our Tiny Tummies Fund and other critical, unrestricted funds that fuel our work, helping us respond to urgent needs, support families, and grow breastfeeding-friendly communities.
