Postpartum mood disorders are one of the most common problems affecting birthing parents within the first year of childbirth. Up to 50% of these parents go undiagnosed. Risk factors for postpartum depression include lack of social support, stressful life events, unintended pregnancy, prior postpartum depression, history of depression, and depression during pregnancy. It is so important for us to check in and ask parents how they are doing and be prepared to help them or direct them to where they can receive help and support. This is why we are so excited about this new hotline! Add the number to your contacts for easy access and spread the word!
