CCFH-Family Connects Durham Nurse Home Visitor: The Center for Child & Family Health’s Family Connects Durham program currently is seeking applications for a full-time (40 hours/week) Nurse Home Visitor. Family Connects supports new parents in caring for their newborn(s), offers physical assessments of the mother and the baby, addresses questions about caring for the newborn(s), identifies parents’ needs, and helps to identify community services or resources that can meet those needs. This position will nurse will work in a team environment of clinical and non-clinical staff in order to recruit, visit, and support families in the community using the evidence-based Family Connects home visiting protocol. Lactation Consultant – Duke Primary Care Pediatrics at Roxboro Street: Duke Primary Care Pediatrics is seeking a Lactation Consultant to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients at the Duke Primary Care Pediatrics at Roxboro Street. As a consultant, this nurse works collaboratively with the Pediatrics and Med-Peds patients and clinical care teams to develop feeding plans for a range of infants from the normal newborn to the complex neonate. They perform clinical assessments, and use current lactation theories and research to develop evidence-based feeding plans that address individual feeding issues while respecting the physician’s and family’s breastfeeding goals.
