19th Annual Triangle Breastfeeding Alliance Conference (May 12, 2022)

On May 12, 2022, Community Health Worker and Breastfeed Durham Board Member, Love Anderson will be one of the presenters at the 19th Annual Triangle Breastfeeding Alliance Conference.

The purpose of this conference is to enhance each participant’s ability to assist individual families to meet their breastfeeding goals. Content will include COVID-19’s impact on breastfeeding and vulnerable populations, the “mysterious” milk-ejection reflex, breastfeeding support for mothers with hormone-based disorders and lessons learned about cultural humility from real-life experiences with breastfeeding families. Common threads will include the importance of embracing diversity as a critical link to quality care, the impact of culture and health inequities on breastfeeding norms and cultural humility as a framework for best practices in breastfeeding support.
