Nurturing Durham Resource Guide

The Nurturing Durham Resource Guide website is now live in both English and Spanish! The guide makes it easy to find free and low-cost programs dedicated to supporting the social, emotional, and mental well-being of children and families in Durham.

On the site, you can search for providers who offer services like behavioral evaluation and treatment, support for new parents, early childhood education, and much more. We have created short, jargon-free descriptions of each program and a simple way to search by the kind of support offered to make it easy for families to discover relevant services in our community.

At this stage, Nurturing Durham has focused on compiling resources supporting the development of children from the pre-natal stage through age 8, but all families and referring providers can explore the site to learn what’s available in our community. The site will be regularly updated and expanded, and we hope it will become a go-to resource for young families, caregivers, and providers in Durham.

What we’re asking from you: Help us raise awareness of the tool! Please share the website with families and providers in your networks through email, newsletters, and/or social media. The attached Communications Toolkit includes recommended text for emails, newsletters, and social media, as well as a flyer about the site. If you would like printed copies of the flyer, please contact Katharine at the READY Project (KatharineCannon@duke.edu).
